The HappyCode app was a three-week project for the Android Bootcamp at The App Academy.
HappyCode is based on a game and website from NJR/Cloud9. Users are asked 20 questions and need to rank these from 0 - 100%. This will result in a HappyCode for each user, which correlates to their personal top 3 strengths. These strengths can be leader, storyteller, unifier etc. It will give the user a overview over what his strengths are and how he should use these strength in his or her life to be happier and more fulfilled, both personal, academic and professional. The user can also ask friends and family to take the test for them. |

Experience and outcome
The HappyCode app was fun to make. It was my first Android app, and it went quite well. Getting used to working with Android Studio and Java after doing my iOS Bootcamp was a bit challenging at first, but in the end it was fun finding out how to do "the same" but in a different way. I also noticed that once I was familiarised with coding for Android that I could easily correlate that to iOS and build on my iOS knowledge.
The most challenging part was connecting to Firebase, but that was also not too tricky in the end.
In the end me and Paul were quite happy with the result of our first Android app.
