The SoDutch App provides expat, tourists and locals with an opportunity to get an insight into the Dutch life style and culture.
See something typical Dutch, like a mom on a bike with two kids, talking on the phone while holding a grocery bag? Take a photo, add a title and description and post it! New in the country and wondering what those balls are that the Dutch seem to be enjoying so much with their beer? Use the SoDutch app to figure out what is typical Dutch. This project was made with Swift in two weeks together with Onyango Willy. It was the first project of the iOS BootCamp from The AppAcademy, and was done after four weeks in the class room. The requirements of the app was:

Experience and outcome
Making my first app, the SoDutch App, together with Willy was good test for the knowledge we had gained over the previous 4 weeks. Beginning with making a detailed plan over which features would be required to reach our MVP (minimum viable product), along with making user stories, wireframes and an action plan. Every day we consulted the list to decide on what to focus on for the day. The satisfaction of ticking off functions and features when they were done was a good motivator.
We completed all the requirements for the project and also added additional features that we felt enhanced the experience of the app. The main focus of the two weeks were the programming, therefore the design of the app is not the most sleek, but we were happy with the result anyway. All in all we were both really satisfied with the end result of our first app project. It was two weeks of hard work, lots of frustration, but also lots of high-fives.
The app is of course not available on the app store as it is not linked to any database to store the entries. The code can be found on githb with the link https://github.com/AppAcademyNL/SoDutch.git
